Larry Tremblay has attained a number of lofty milestones in his three-plus decades as the wrestling coach at Winchester High. But no one seemed to notice when he made history on Saturday.
The state’s carer leader in wins, Tremblay recorded his 700th victory when the Sachems defeated Pentucket Regional, 51-16, in a nine-team tournament at Whittier Regional Tech in Haverhill.
He wasn’t done, and neither was Winchester. The Sachems (22-6) captured the tourney with three more wins, raising their coach’s record to 703-98-5 in 38 seasons, which includes one year at his alma mater, North Reading.
